Pre-game notes: Bruins vs. Winnipeg Jets 2/17/2012

First it was Nathan Horton, now Rich Peverley. Two key forwards lost in less than a month. All hell has broken loose. This road trip is incredibly important, as this team needs to regain their identity. Bruins fans long for the days of 60 minute efforts, a tough blue line, and offensive streaks for every player. They’ll regain those aspects of their game eventually, and they’re going to have to do that without two strong players and only 5 defensemen. I don’t count Joe Corvo anymore. Sorry, not sorry. We’re playing Failapeg tonight, so it’d be nice to not totally suck.

I’m not going to write a long pre-game today because there isn’t a whole lot to write about. This is the fourth time the Bruins and the Jets are meeting this  year, with the Bruins having won 2 out of 3 so far. The Bruins are statistically better in every category. We can only go over what they need to do every game so many times before it gets old. The Bruins know what they have to do, and they’re extremely capable of doing it.

Projected Lines:

Lucic-Krejci-Pouliot

Marchand- Bergeron- Seguin

Paille-Kelly-Caron

Hennessy-Campbell-Thornton

Dollah Dollah Bills Boychuk-Chara

Seidenberg-Corvo

Ference-McQuaid

Tuukka is getting his first start tonight after being pulled in Buffalo. I’m expecting a good game from Tuukka, he has something to prove.

Three cheers for Josh Hennessy getting into the lineup. You can tell from all the interviews that he’s really excited to play with the team. Hopefully he’ll put up some points tonight, that’d be nice to see.

Final Thoughts:

Bruins/Jets drinking game

  • Drink every time Blake Wheeler goes offsides
  • Die within the hour
