Pre-game notes: Bruins vs. Jets 1/21/13

Just throwing this together really quick I only have like 7 minutes so let’s see how this shit comes out lets GO.

Alrighty Blake Wheeler, Mark Stuart and the Winnipeg Jets are rolling into Boston for the second game of the season. The Jets fell in their season opener 4-1 to the Ottawa Senators. They’ll be looking to rebound while the B’s will be looking to keep up their strong play.

Players to watch:

  • Dustin Byfuglien – the monstrous d-man is always someone you have to look out for. He can put up goals and isn’t easy to get off the puck. Byfuglien must be contained.
  • Brad Marchand – Like Lucic, Marchand didn’t play overseas during the lockout. Expect him to come out and make a statement this afternoon.
  • Aaron Johnson – Seidenberg will sit out today’s game with a lower-body injury thus giving this 29-year-old defenseman a chance to play his first game for the black and gold. Keep an eye out for this guy.

Projected lines

Lucic-Krejci-Horton

Marchand-Bergeron-Seguin

Peverley-Kelly-Bourque

Paille-Campbell-Thornton

Chara-Hamilton

Johnson-Boychuk

Ference-McQuaid

Rask

Final thoughts: It’s a matinee. We are wearing our third jerseys. This could spell disaster for the B’s, but then again we’re just insane, superstitious hockey fans. The B’s looked damn good against the Rags. Hopefully they can carry this momentum into this afternoon. Let’s go Bruins!
